Diego Costa and Martin Skrtel had a bit of a showdown during a legends game at Stamford Bridge that brought up memories of their ongoing feud. But it seems like things have calmed down after the match.

The two players faced off as Chelsea legends took on a team of Liverpool icons at Stamford Bridge. Costa, who is now 37 years old, showed that he still had some fire in him when he got into it with Skrtel. After a rough but fair tackle from Skrtel, the two got in each other’s faces. Things seemed to calm down, but then Costa decided to give Skrtel a bit of a body-check. Skrtel wasn’t too pleased and made his feelings known by pointing a finger at Costa. Eventually, Costa was booked by the referee for his actions.

However, it seems like all is well between the two players now. Costa posted a picture on his Instagram story of him and Skrtel embracing each other, both making fists for the camera. They even added a laughing and red heart emoji to show that they were all good.

Costa and Skrtel have a history of bad blood dating back to their time in the Premier League. In a Carabao Cup match between Chelsea and Liverpool in 2015, Costa was accused of stomping on Emre Can and Skrtel. While he didn’t face any immediate consequences during the game, the Football Association later handed him a three-game ban. The incident didn’t sit well with then-Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who called Costa out for his actions. Costa, on the other hand, defended himself by saying that he plays the same way every time to support his family and the club.

Despite their past clashes, it seems like Costa and Skrtel have put their differences aside. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s good to see players burying the hatchet and moving on. Who knows what the future holds for these two former Premier League rivals, but for now, it looks like they’ve found some common ground.
