The Placepot is a bet where you select a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting. You can pick more than one horse in a race – you just multiply the number of selections in each race to calculate your stake. Distant Storm is favourite for the Dewhurst but Templegate is looking elsewhere with his Placepot selections. So for staking it’s 2x2x2x2x2x2 which adds up to 64 lines in the Placepot. You can stake what you want upwards from 5p a line which would cost a total of £3.20. 10p a line is £6.40 and so on. Provided at least one of our horses in each race is placed, we get a payout!
The big Tote Placepot is at Newmarket on Saturday, where the Group 1 Dewhurst for two-year-olds takes centre stage. After that comes the Cesarewitch, a cavalry charge over 2m2f of the famous track which could see a few promising Placepot punts go down the pan. Although hopefully not for us!
Templegate’s Newmarket Placepot picks include Gladius, First Conquest, Endorsement, Allegresse, Al Zanati, Hankelow, Zavateri, Gstaad, Mordor, Bunting, Blue To Blue, and Pacifica Pier. Remember to gamble responsibly and always establish time and monetary limits before playing. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose and never chase your losses. Don’t gamble if you’re upset, angry, or depressed. Check out Gamcare and Gamble Aware for more information on responsible gambling practices. Good luck with your Placepot selections!
Alrighty, so the Placepot is a fun little bet where you pick a horse to be placed in the first six races of a meeting. You can choose more than one horse in each race and multiply your selections to calculate your stake. Distant Storm might be the favourite for the Dewhurst, but Templegate has some other ideas for his Placepot picks. Staking involves multiplying your selections, so it can add up pretty quickly. The big Tote Placepot is happening at Newmarket this Saturday, featuring the Group 1 Dewhurst for two-year-olds and the Cesarewitch. Templegate’s picks are in, so let’s see how they do!
Not really sure why this matters, but remember to gamble responsibly and set those limits before you start playing. Only bet with money you can afford to lose and never try to make up for losses by gambling more. If you’re feeling upset or down, it’s probably best to steer clear of the betting scene. And don’t forget to check out Gamcare and Gamble Aware for more tips on responsible gambling. Good luck out there, folks!
