Nottingham Forest are apparently thinking about giving Ange Postecoglou the boot after only a month on the job. According to reports, Forest have yet to secure a victory since the former Tottenham manager took over on September 9. The team’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, seems to have his sights set on Sean Dyche as a potential replacement if Postecoglou gets the axe. Dyche, who used to play for Forest and currently resides in Nottingham, is seen as a strong candidate due to his experience in keeping clubs in the Premier League.
Postecoglou has not managed to secure a single win since taking over as Forest boss, leaving the team in a precarious position just one point above the relegation zone in 17th place. Marinakis is reportedly eyeing Dyche as the ideal candidate to turn things around for the struggling team. The 54-year-old Dyche, who left Everton earlier this year, has a proven track record of promoting teams to the Premier League during his time at Burnley. If Postecoglou is indeed sacked, Dyche would become Forest’s third manager of the season.
Other contenders for the position include Fulham boss Marco Silva and former manager Steve Cooper, who currently works for Brondby. However, Dyche’s availability makes him a prime candidate for the role. Forest fans have already expressed their discontent during a recent Europa League match by chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning” towards Postecoglou. Despite the speculation, Postecoglou is expected to remain in charge for the upcoming game against Chelsea at the City Ground next Saturday. However, if Forest’s winless streak continues, his position could be in jeopardy.
