Man Utd Not Really Into the Idea of Thomas Tuchel
So, apparently, Thomas Tuchel is not on Manchester United’s radar if they decide to part ways with Ruben Amorim in the middle of the season. The 52-year-old England coach was someone United had their eye on when they were thinking about giving Erik ten Hag the boot. He even had a meeting with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. But, you know, things didn’t really go as planned.
Sources are saying that Tuchel wasn’t all that impressed with how United handled things before the Football Association (FA) swooped in and snatched him up to replace Gareth Southgate. Tuchel is locked in with England until the end of the 2026 World Cup, and it looks like he’s in it for the long haul. United had actually lined him up to take charge once before but ended up sticking with Ten Hag after a big win against Manchester City. Talk about a rollercoaster of events.
Amorim’s Three-Year Plan and United’s Impatience
In a recent interview, Sir Jim Ratcliffe mentioned that Amorim, who only took over last November, is only a third of the way through a three-year project. He believes that Amorim needs to show he’s got what it takes to be a top-notch coach over the course of three years. Sir Jim says, “I would say Ruben needs to demonstrate that he’s a great coach over three years. That’s where I would be: [Give him] Three years. Because football is not overnight.” But, you know, football can be a tough game, and it’s all about the results at the end of the day.
United’s track record under Amorim hasn’t been all that impressive, with only 19 wins out of 50 games and 37 points from 34 matches in the Premier League. To make matters worse, they finished in 15th place last season, their worst finish in years. This season hasn’t been much better, with three losses and three wins so far. They’re gearing up to face Liverpool next Sunday, and let’s just say the odds aren’t exactly in their favor. It’s been a rough road for United, and it seems like patience is wearing thin. But hey, they’ve got a long-term plan in place, right? Maybe it’s just a matter of time before things start looking up for them.
