Josh Rock ain’t too happy with the venue for the Darts World Grand Prix. The lad got knocked out of the tournament by Gerwyn Price recently and he’s not holding back on his thoughts about the location. The 24-year-old has been competing in the event for the past two years but ain’t impressed with the crowd in Leicester.

The Grand Prix has been around since 1998, starting out in Rochester before moving to Dublin’s Citywest Hotel from 2001 to 2019. In 2021, it shifted to the 2,200-capacity Mattioli Arena after a short stint in Coventry. Rock is now demanding that the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) find a new spot for the tournament because he reckons the current one ain’t pulling in enough fans.

According to the Northern Irishman, the event struggled to sell out in Leicester, and he reckons they need to pick a venue that’ll be packed to the brim from start to finish. Rock shared his two cents with the Metro, saying, “I never experienced it when it was in Dublin, but I think the PDC need to change the venue because they don’t get the fans in Leicester at all. It’s meant to be a major. So I think maybe they need to find somewhere that they know they’re going to get the fans from Monday all the way to Sunday.”
